The children in our Specialist Provision classes were treated to a taster session of Equine Facilitated Learning.
Anne from Learning in Harmony with Donkeys brought Mariam the donkey to our outdoor learning space and each class had an opportunity to meet, stroke and brush Mariam. Some children were even able to take her for a little walk!
Through these sessions, children have opportunities to:
- develop communication skills
- build self-confidence
- grow in independence
- deepen their engagement & focus
all whilst smiling, laughing and enjoying the great outdoors!
You will see from the photos taken, that it was an experience enjoyed by many. The children responded beautifully to Mariam and the adults in each class were bursting with pride!
