In P.5 we've just finished our first class novel - 'The Twits' by Roald Dahl. It was a lot of fun learning about Mr and Mrs Twit and many pupils scored full marks in our in-depth end-of-book quiz!
Along the way we made disgusting beards in art that taught us to team interesting nouns with appropriate adjectives, thought about our 'might' and how ugliness and beauty start from within, and thought all about reflection when we imagined Mr and Mrs Twit's living room turned upside down!
Each pupil then had to reflect on the phrase 'I'm not a Twit!' in bubble writing, to prove they are not actually a twit! They all did this convincingly!
We finished with a sensory task - where some pupils got to feel and see wormy spaghetti, feel Mrs Twit’s glass eyeball, smell and taste the blue cheese caught in Mr Twit’s beard, feel Mr Twit's icky beard, and experience the incredible stickiness of HUGTIGHT sticky glue!
