Dinosaur Detectives at Work!
18th Mar 2026
As part of our dinosaur topic, the Key Stage One children became junior palaeontologists by exploring how fossils are formed. They pressed ‘dinosaur bones’ (fizzy worms) and ‘dinosaur teeth’ (jelly beans) between layers of white bread, then pushed the bread down firmly to mimic changes in the earth over time due to pressure, erosion and weathering. The children loved seeing the fossil-like impressions this created!
