Forest School fun in the mud!
Today’s session was full of outdoor excitement and muddy adventures! After a week of wet weather, the children were greeted by plenty of gloopy mud! They thought of different adjectives to describe the mud, including ‘squelchy’, ‘oozy’ and ‘sticky’. One child declared himself ‘stuck’ in the mud, and the children delighted in forming a human chain to pull him out!
Reading the story of ‘Leaf Man’ earlier in the day inspired the children to use leaves to create their own people and animals. Their fabulous creations included cats, dragonflies, rabbits, turtles and hedgehogs.
They counted berries and hid them for others to find, threw leaves in the air and tried to catch them, and then created big piles of leaves to try to jump over.
It was a fantastic day of learning, teamwork and outdoor play - full of fun, creativity and muddy boots!
