Subtraction with Exchange

There are lots of different ways to do formal maths sums, particularly subtraction.

This video shows the method used in Victoria Primary (and most primary schools across Northern Ireland). Hopefully it helps!

The main rules:

If the number on the floor is bigger, go next door!

1. Strike it out
2. Replace with one less
3. Carry it over (one column to the right)
