Green Class had a super trip today. It was enlightening, fascinating and, at times, very emotional as we learned all about the Battle of the Somme. We got see and feel, first-hand, what new recruits would have been asked to do in preparation for war, helping us to connect with the incredible bravery that was needed all those years ago. We got hands-on with a wide variety of weapons used during WWI and even got to explore what it would been like to go through the trenches, ending up on the frontline of the battlefield. It was all very humbling and helped us to appreciate the sacrifices made by our ancestors.
